SOLD C&C 35 Mark 11

SOLD Alacrity has been a good friend for 18 years and whether racing or cruising has been a joy to sail.
Four years ago I embarked on a major refurbishment of the hull and equipment to allow my wife & I to sail into old age without hurting ourselves in the attempt. We lengthened to boom and put a small crane aft on the mast top in order to set a full code 5 main and reduce the normal 150% headsail to a 135%. The newest sails in the spec sheet reflect this. Balance has remained perfect and the smaller headsail is much easier to crank in. I have also moved the mainsheet track to the aft end of the cockpit seats, which is a huge improvement for both crew comfort and single-handed sailing. This has allowed bridge deck modifications consistent with the 35 mk1 and allows much easier entry and exit under the dodger. The Treadmaster decking provides both grip and confidence when the boat is jumping about. The hull job at Blackline was an outright extravagance but has given great satisfaction in appearance together with both a surprising and unexpected improvement to performance. The dodger and the stack pack were further concessions to old age but both are wonderful; I should have done them years ago. Standard PHRF-NW rating for this class is 129. With the smaller jib Alacrity has 135 and on a good day sails to it.
I still love the boat; the only reason I am selling is that I am in love with a bigger and faster boat. I must be crazy. Overall the boat is in great shape with New dodger, new bottom paint Well maintained and sweet sailing classic plastic. New sails, dodger, stack pack cover and tread master deck in last 4 years. Complete $17000 Blackline keel & hull fairing & paint job. 25 hp 4cyl diesel Espar heat, H/C prs. water. Re wired with blue seas panel 12v & 120v. The boat is for sale on Salt Spring Island BC
